New Superannuation Guarantee Laws Introduced

New Superannuation Guarantee Laws

Laws introduced make directors personally liable for their company’s unpaid Super guarantee charge.

Companies have been given two weeks to ensure their Super guarantee obligations are up to date for the June quarter. If your company does not lodge any overdue Super guarantee statement with the Australian Taxation Office by 28 November 2012 then a director may be personally liable to pay the Super guarantee charge.

If you are a director of a company, we recommend that you ensure that your company’s Super obligations are up to date prior to the deadline of 28 November 2012.

Please contact our office if you have any questions about the changes in the law.
