Hatzis Lawyers deals with the following aspects of Family Law:
EFFICIENT AND COST-EFFECTIVE LEGAL SOLUTIONS
FORWARD THINKING LEGAL
As Brisbane Family Lawyers, we understand and empathise with the emotions of our clients.
Our professional Family Law team help our clients navigate their situations by helping them understand the financial aspects and facilitating communications with the other party.
As Family Lawyers, we specialise in resolving disputes.
We assist our clients with regards to property disputes by advising the following:
- The division of property between the parties;
- Injunctions restraining one party from dealing with the property or a certain item of property;
- Superannuation issues including splitting and flagging superannuation;
- Binding Financial Agreements; and
- Applications for Consent Orders.
The types of Binding Financial Agreements that are available are:
- Agreements prior to marriage or entering into a de facto relationship;
- Agreements during a marriage; and
- Agreements after separation.
We act in all matters regarding de facto property under the Family Law Act. We are available to assist in the preparation of documentation for de facto property and children’s issues, and in particular documentation in litigation relating to children born as a result of artificial conception procedures.
In order to proceed with your divorce, we will require:
Your original marriage certificate (issued by the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages of the State in which you were married). If you do not have this document, then further fees will be payable by you for us to obtain this certificate on your behalf.
We can assist you with all aspects of enforcement of outstanding child support. An application can be brought to the Child Support Agency seeking that a party pay more than the typical amount under the administrative formula.
A surrogacy arrangement is one where a woman agrees to carry a child for another couple with the intention of relinquishing the child to that couple at the end of the pregnancy.
It is a difficult area and one which requires the assistance of a solicitor in order to ensure compliance with the Act. In particular, it is necessary for a solicitor to file an Affidavit advising the Court about various matters advised to either party.
We can assist you in navigating the adoption process. It is important that anyone considering adoption seek legal advice on that issue because there are significant consequences if these matters are not handled correctly, including offences relating to the adoption of children.
We are available to assist parents who are attempting to recover their children from overseas as a result of an international abduction.
Hague Convention proceedings arise out of Australia’s international obligations and Australian laws based on those obligations. The considerations that the Court would usually consider in a matter involving two parents residing in Australia generally do not apply to Hague Convention proceedings.
We bring a professional perspective to issues in dispute, advising on a range of available options to assist you in your decision-making processes. In doing so, we will explore all available options which may help you.
If you have any queries with any of these subjects or want to speak with one of our experienced family laws solicitors, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 1300 HATZIS (1300 428 947) and we will be more than happy to answer any of your questions.
